Up the Creek Wildlife Photography includes unique high quality wildlife and landscape images captured on our property located in southeastern Oklahoma. Our home, Round Bottom Ranch, is surrounded by national forest on all sides. We share this place with a myriad of wildlife. We like to think that each of our images displays uninterrupted nature at its best. We love sharing a piece of our family and home with you. Meet The Photographer
Growing up in the Ouachita Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma instilled a deep appreciation for the land and its inhabitants in wildlife photographer and Choctaw citizen Gene Blackwell. With a great passion for the outdoors and a desire to be a good steward of the land, Gene started a family and a ranch on original Choctaw allotment land.
Up the Creek Wildlife Photography was born out of the desire to showcase the beauty and nature that God has painted in the heart of the Choctaw Nation. Along with an observant eye for nature's finest moments, Gene has developed his skills to produce unique, high-quality wildlife photography and landscape images capturing nature uninterrupted on his family property - Round Bottom Ranch - and along Blackfork Creek. With each image, Gene shares a piece of his home, his family and his land.
